CREST in Viet Nam
In 2022 Alan West has was appointed by The British Science Association as a CREST Training and Marketing Consultant on an exclusive basis in the territory of Vietnam for the CREST Awards scheme.
Through this appointment the Consultancy have worked with collaborating STEM delivery organisations to support the training of Mentors, Ambassadors and Teachers to support the STEM pedagogical approaches and requirements of CREST Awards.
The consultancy has also worked to develop a wider ecosystem of support in different regions of Viet Nam through collaborative initiatives. These have included developments with STEAMAX In Ho Chi Minh City and the South of Viet Nam Also regional marketing support through LYDINC in Central Viet Nam and VN-UK in Danang.

CREST at TQT school 2019
Tran Quoc Toan 2nd School was the first public school in Southeast Asia to implement the CREST Awards Discovery program. Over 60 students participated in the inaugural program, exploring three topics: "Stop the spread," "Beat the flood," and "Floating garden." The students showed great engagement, with 52 out of 60 receiving certificates upon completion.
CREST at Silver and Gold levels with STEMax and STEAMAX
CREST Awards, at both Silver and Gold levels, are also delivered in Vietnam. To date, over 20 Vietnamese students have achieved these awards. Their research topics are broad, encompassing fields such as computer science, environment, material science, and social science. Students engage in professional research collaborations with universities and companies.
CREST Awards in Da Lat
CREST Awards were also extended to the Central region of Vietnam, specifically Da Lat. There, students participated in the Discovery level of the CREST program. Their project, "smashed tomatoes," involved building devices that utilized the principles of pulleys and cables. The students showed great engagement and produced excellent results. Upon completion of the course, they had the chance to speak with Mr. Alan, who offered them encouragement and inspiration.
CREST at Kindergarten level
CREST has also been implemented for Kindergarten students at Angels House school in Ho Chi Minh City. Students aged 4-5 years old are currently working at Star levels within the programme.
