Working as a High Level STEM Consultant on behalf of The British Council, Alan West supported the training of STEM Mentors derived from a number of universities and research institutes. These mentors were actively supporting STEM projects, linked to their own research in some way, under the auspices of LIPI
The consultancy was also used to provide advice and support on the judging of Science and Engineering competitions.
The stage is set for a large-scale science competition event coupled with prequel training for Mentors from LIPI and also participating students who were given advice on competition presentation techniques.

Student guidance on competition participation provided by associate consultancy Gerard Hughes. This was based on his extensive experience of ISEF in the USA and the organisation of the Young Innovators Competition in Ireland.
